THE ARTIST AS A BRAND: DIGITAL MARKETING TECHNIQUES FOR THE EMERGING ART PROFESSIONAL

The workshop will focus on techniques that can easily be implemented by every art professional in order to develop their own marketing techniques in relation to their own brand strengths.

Structure:

– Social media as marketing tool: an introduction

– Introduction on branding in art history; who used it, how, and how these strategies can be translated into modern day artistic branding

– Building own brand: recognizing own strong points, developing a strategy

– Group discussion on branding and networking – how to present oneself confidently in order to enhance one’s possibilities in terms of personal branding

The participants can also bring their artist statement if they wish to discuss it with the group. Participants are actively encouraged to take part in the group discussion.

Lavinia Colzani has been graduating from TAMK with a thesis on digital marketing techniques for emerging art professionals. She has been working as social media manager for TAMK, and for the past two years, she has been working as a producer for award winning Finlayson Art Area, in Tampere, where she has been in charge of the festival’s social media marketing.
