Globe Art Sessions: 24 May -Intuitive structure and the rematerialization of the artist

Welcome to the informal lecture of Felipe de Ávila Franco at Globe Art Point, the first one of our Globe Art Sessions where the aim is to have participative discussions and share knowledge between artists and art workers.
When: 24th May, 4-6pm
Where: Globe Art Point, Malminkatu 5, Helsinki (Kamppi)

Felipe de Ávila  will address the artist as an agent operating in the space to question notions of society, territory, and culture, considering the boundaries of language, tradition, and market. De Ávila will approach the topics of ecology and geopolitics present in the materiality of his work, and the concept of structure as the core aspect of his artistic process, besides other cultural aspects that can influence one’s production.

This is a participative presentation that highly stimulates the discussion and individual experience exchange.

Felipe de Ávila Franco (1982) is a Brazilian artist working between Finland and Brazil, living in Helsinki since 2013. In this presentation he will comment his latest works and link them to his background practice, discussing issues related to the development of the artistic research in a global scope.
