Julia Syrzistie

Julia Syrzistie works across printmaking, book arts and design for print. Her work centres around researching unexplored narratives and social phenomena through a typographic lens: in particular the history of letterpress printing. In her recent work, Syrzistie has been exploring 19th century decorative type, imaginary alphabets and printer’s ornaments. In her client-based work, she has a particular interest in designing artist publications. Her portfolio consists of exhibition catalogue, cookbook, creative publication, journal and artist book design. She holds a BA(Hons) degree in Communication Design from the Glasgow School of Art, and is currently an MFA student in Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki.
