The GAP Creatives Database is an open archive dedicated to supporting, highlighting, and empowering underrepresented art and culture professionals in Finland. It brings together creatives working across disciplines, including artists, cultural producers, educators, researchers, and creative entrepreneurs.
The database was created to increase the visibility of professionals who are often overlooked by traditional and mainstream platforms. We value multicultural perspectives, lived experiences, community engagement, and diverse approaches to creative practice, helping to make Finland’s cultural landscape more inclusive and representative.
Who is the GAP Creatives Database for?
The database is for creative professionals who contribute to Finland’s diverse art and culture field and who may have experience working across different cultural, linguistic, or social contexts.
We particularly welcome creatives who:
- Have experience working in multicultural environments
- Engage meaningfully with diverse communities
- Bring diverse cultural, artistic, or lived perspectives to their practice
- Are Finnish returnees looking to reconnect with Finland’s art and culture sector after studying or working abroad
Who can apply?
You are eligible to apply if you meet at least one of the following criteria:
- You are a foreign-born professional currently based in Finland
- You are Finland-raised with a multicultural background
- You are a Finnish returnee who has studied or worked in the art and culture sector abroad
The database is open to professionals across a wide range of creative and cultural disciplines. Whether you are an artist, producer, educator, curator, designer, researcher, entrepreneur, or work across several fields, we encourage you to apply if your practice aligns with the database’s aims.
