I am Valentina Černiauskaitė, and I work at the intersections of visual art, publishing, and writing. Through visual and verbal storytelling, I explore the nature of time, memory, change, communication and perception.

Working with manual, analogue-based methods, I often use film photography, printed matter, drawing, textile, and writing. My practice reflects on cyclices, motion, repetition, and the relationships between time, space, humans, and the natural world.

Cohesion and continuity are central to my work, with each idea, chapter, and project forming part of a larger evolving whole. My practice is guided by attention, intuition, and an ongoing response to the present and surroundings, as well as rhythms beyond the human scale.

Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, I currently live and work in Helsinki, Finland. I hold a BA in Graphic Art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts and completed an exchange year at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki.

Alongside my independent practice, I collaborate on duo and group exhibitions, publications, vinyl record releases, and interdisciplinary creative projects, primarily contributing visual work. I also write essays, articles, and art writing for a range of cultural contexts. Between 2021-2025 I have worked as a Library Coordinator and event producer at PUBLICS, Helsinki.
