Leik Silvestrini (b. 1995) is an Oslo-born, Helsinki-based queer, non-binary performance- & visual artist. With a deep curiosity for language, storytelling and interpersonal relations, their multifaceted works emerge from everyday encounters and explore topics such as normativity, empathy, trust, care and power with humor and playfulness through a queer-vegan lens.
In the past years Leik’s practice has been centered around costumes, characters and alternative narratives that enter existing situations in public and private space. Their approach is durational, relational and processual, attempting to dissolve dichotomies such as fiction/reality, human/animal and stranger/friend.
Leik is one of the founders and organizers of the queer, autonomous DIY gallery Kiss my ARS, as well as the semi-yearly Open Home Performance Festival.
