Navid Afzalnia

I am Navid Afzalnia, and I am a multidisciplinary artist and photographer based in Helsinki. I did my bachelor’s degree in photography at the Art University of Tehran, Iran, and recently I did my MFA in the Time and Space department at Uniarts Helsinki. I have several group and solo shows in countries such as Iran, India, and Finland.
My work generally delves into the boundaries of human behaviour and ethics. I approach humanity not as a cultural or social construct, but from a biological perspective, or simply, a ‘Naked Ape’. I intended to use socio-political contexts as a foundation to investigate the deeper, often elusive roots of human behaviour within the mental and emotional realms.
