Dee Kourtsman is a Russian-born indie folk guitarist, singer and a songwriter, now living in Espoo, Finland. He performs as a solo artist and as a leader of famous Russian folk-rock band The Dartz. Dee’s music is one third Celtic, one third Russian, one third modern acoustic rock backed with unforgettable stand-up show. Dee’s performances are best described by the listeners: “Every time it’s a wonder how Dee manages to involve everyone and visualize far lands, distant beacons, desert mirages and the guiding lights of joy, bringing everyone in the room together”
With The Dartz, Dee released “Yarmarka”, a pivotal album that defined the outlook of Russian Celtic music stage in early 2000s. Later, the album “Proxima Parada” was nominated and won the best Russian albums of 2009 in folk-rock genre.
As a solo act, Dee toured Europe in September 2024 – April 2025 with his new program called “Quattrochento”, and played 30 concerts in Finland, Latvia, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Serbia, Greece, Georgia, Armenia and other countries.
Latest Dee’s release, “Zhitomir” (July 2024, Boglach Records) was highly appreciated by public and critics as anti-war lament dedicated to everyone who had to leave home country in times of war.
In September 2025 Dee released his new album “Fire, water and pipes of Obvodny Channel” dedicated to St. Petersburg, the city of his childhood. Currently Dee is on tour which started in USA and continues in Europe.
