Gloria Velasco (b. 1992, Mexico) is a painter and art historian whose work fuses the intimate with the symbolic. Based in Helsinki since 2020, she has focused on developing her painting practice at Vapaa Taidekoulu (Free Art School), drawing on personal experiences and themes such as femininity, motherhood, and childhood. Rooted in her Mexican heritage and shaped by life abroad, her paintings navigate emotional landscapes with a psychological lens. Her work has been exhibited in group shows across Finland and is part of private and public collections, including the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS). She holds a Master’s in Art History from UNAM and a BA from the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana.
