Ezgi Tanrıverdi is a visual artist and illustrator based in Helsinki, Finland. She holds a Master’s degree in Arctic Art and Design from the University of Lapland, where her studies focused on community art, environmental art, and socially engaged and participatory artistic practices. These areas continue to shape her artistic life, as she carries the knowledge and experiences gained through her studies into her current work.
She has participated in exhibitions and collaborative art projects in Finland and internationally, and continues to take part in collective and community-oriented artistic practices. She is a member of the Embroidered Stances collective from Lapland, and has also participated in the Professional Media Presence (PMP) project, an international creative project bringing artists from different countries together through workshops, collaboration, and professional development.
Socially engaged and participatory art remain an important part of Ezgi’s practice. She has facilitated creative workshops and is interested in creating spaces where people can participate, exchange experiences, and explore ideas through artistic processes. Her own artistic work moves between mixed media, drawing, and textile sculpture, exploring connection, interconnectedness, perception, and the space between the real and the imagined. She often works through hands-on and intuitive processes, allowing materials and forms to develop through making.
Alongside her art practice, she works as a live illustrator through her Helsinki-based business, Ezgi Tan Studio. She creates quick, hand-drawn illustrations of people at cultural events, markets, brand activations and other gatherings, capturing personal style and the atmosphere of the occasion. Her wider illustration practice also includes fashion-focused drawing, commissions and creative collaborations.
