Carla du Ré is a vocalist, singer-songwriter and performing musician born in France.
After studies in Litterature and Arts Management, and professionnal experiences as cultural mediator and producer, she started her musical career while collecting songs from several traditions and exploring their different vocal techniques.
Through various collaborations, she kept exploring while getting involved in projects of diverse aesthetics : french chanson, traditional and global musics, jazz, folk or indie pop, and sang in different languages.
She started to compose for theater, especially for youth audiences, accompanying herself with keyboard or vocal looper.
Now mainly dedicated to her eponymous project, she performs her own songs, exploring universal topics in an intimate way, using contrasts and interpretation to make words and music resonate together in a groovy melancholy.
Aside that, she keeps exploring polyphonic répertoires, specialising herself in occitan tradition and its transmission, and enlarging her instrumental practice with pandero cuadrado.
Also part of the new promotion of CRASH studies, she aims to collaborate more with other fields and combine her creative skills with community building and social projects.
