I am an interdisciplinary visual artist and political refugee living and working in Helsinki, Finland. As an asylum seeker, I spent two years in a refugee reception center in Vantaa. This experience profoundly influenced my artistic practice.
My work explores themes of war, forced migration, and self-identification. I work with photography, photo collage, video, and text-based practices, including poetry. I am particularly interested in how the experience of displacement can be translated into visual language and contemporary artistic forms.
Using various media, I explore issues of memory, belonging, vulnerability, and the ongoing search for identity in conditions of instability and transition.
