I’m a Brazilian / Italian photographer, photojournalist, visual artist and cultural worker based in Helsinki, Finland. I’m 35 years old, I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and I’ve been living in Finland since 2016.
My path as a photographer started at the age of 18, photographing the mundane and everyday life of my own city. Since then, photography and art have been an integral part of my life and a way for me to express my point of view about different subjects, to connect with people, to expand my horizons and to understand myself and the world better. For me, photography is an important medium which has the power to shine a light on important subjects that are often unseen by society and to give voice to those who need it.
The main subjects of my artistic works are urbanism, social issues, connection with nature, personal experiences and collective stories and my photos can be seen as an intersection between documentary and artistic photography. Through the years I have also worked with different mediums beyond photography, such as video, painting and drawing and my work has been exhibited at different art spaces in Finland.
I have been working as a photojournalist for different international news agencies since 2013 both in Brazil and in Finland. I have studied a Bachelor’s degree of Culture and Arts, with a major in Fine Arts at the Tampere University of Applied Sciences, which I graduated from in 2021. I’ve been working as a gallery assistant & host at Sinne gallery since 2025 and I’m currently studying a master’s degree in art education and visual studies at Aalto University.
