Globe Art Point Is Moving to a New Home

As Globe Art Point celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are also preparing for a new chapter. From 1 December 2026, GAP will be permanently based at Käenkuja 3a A, Helsinki, where we will share office space with Cupore, the Centre for Cultural Policy Research.

Ten Years of Growth and Collaboration

Over the past decade, Globe Art Point has grown from a small initiative into an established network supporting international artists and cultural professionals in Finland. We have built strong connections across the Finnish arts and cultural sector, developed relationships with ministries, grant-makers and policymakers, and advocated for fairer working conditions and greater opportunities for international creatives. Our collaborations have also expanded across the Nordic countries and Europe.

Our community has grown alongside our work. Today, GAP brings together more than 30 full and supporting members, almost 400 creatives in our online database, and a team of four employees.

As we enter our second decade, finding a working environment that supports our growing team and activities has become increasingly important.

A New Chapter with Cupore

Our current premises in central Helsinki have served us well for many years. We have particularly valued being able to offer members free and accessible space for meetings, work and other activities whenever possible.

However, working separately from other arts and cultural organisations has sometimes felt isolating. As our team and activities have expanded, we have recognised the need for an environment that better supports everyday collaboration, our working conditions and staff wellbeing.

When we learned that Cupore was looking for an organisation to share its office with, we saw an opportunity to build closer connections within the cultural sector while improving our daily working environment.

Our new location brings us closer to organisations and collaborators such as Caisa, Uniarts and KUVI, with Suvilahti, Teurastamo and Konepaja also nearby. We look forward to becoming part of this lively creative environment and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

What Does the Move Mean for Our Members?

One significant change is that we will no longer be able to offer GAP’s office space for independent member use in the same way as before.

We understand how valuable this free, centrally located space has been for many members, and this decision has not been easy. However, our current working conditions no longer adequately meet the needs of our growing team. This move allows us to prioritise a more functional working environment and the wellbeing of our staff.

We will work together with our members to update the benefits and opportunities available to reflect this change. For members who have relied on our premises, we will continue to offer support where possible by helping identify alternative spaces and venues through our networks.

Although our office arrangements are changing, GAP’s core mission and activities will continue. We remain committed to advocating for cultural equity, diversity and inclusion, supporting international artists and cultural professionals, and creating opportunities for connection and collaboration.

Our New Address and Visiting Hours

Our move will officially take effect on 1 December 2026, when we will have permanently moved out of our former premises at Malminkatu 5. Some GAP events may already take place at our new location in November.

Please note that we will be sharing office space with Cupore, rather than establishing a separate office of our own.

Our working hours will remain Monday to Friday, 9:00–16:00. Visits and meetings will be arranged by appointment.

As we say goodbye to one chapter of GAP’s story, we look forward to the opportunities this new beginning may bring. Thank you to our members, partners, collaborators and supporters for being part of our journey over the past ten years. We look forward to continuing this work together.

For questions about our relocation, please contact our Project Manager, Alex, at [email protected].

Warmly,

The Globe Art Point team
