As part of Globe Art Point’s 10th Anniversary Celebration, we are inviting GAP members and the wider public to take part in a special Human Library on 22 October 2026 at Botta, Helsinki.
The Human Library will take place from 14:00 to 16:00, before the evening anniversary celebration.
Meet the people behind GAP’s story
For ten years, Globe Art Point has been bringing together artists, cultural professionals, organisations and creative communities. This anniversary is not only a celebration of GAP as an association, but also of the people who have shaped its journey.
For the Human Library, GAP members will become living Books, each representing a different story, perspective or journey within our community.
Visitors can choose a Book from the “bookshelf” and take part in a 15-minute conversation. Readers can ask questions, listen to the Book’s experiences, learn about their creative practice and discover perspectives they may not otherwise encounter.
After each round, readers can return to the bookshelf and choose another Book to read.
How does the Human Library work?
The Human Library is a global initiative that creates a safe and structured space for dialogue and exchange. Instead of borrowing a traditional book, participants “borrow” a person and engage in a conversation based on their lived experience.
At the GAP edition, each Human Book will be a GAP member. Their “chapters” may include their personal journey, artistic or professional practice, experiences of working in Finland, community work, or other stories and perspectives they wish to share.
The format offers a low-threshold way to meet new people, exchange experiences and learn more about the diverse knowledge and creativity within the GAP community.
You don’t need to know anyone beforehand. Come curious, choose a Book and start a conversation.
