Paloma Bautista Sánchez: THREADS OF REALITY

1 April 2026 – 28 April 2026

GAP Window is pleased to present its eighth exhibition, Threads of Reality, opening on 1 April 2026. Continuing the project’s exploration of artistic expression in public space, this exhibition brings together a series of paintings by Paloma Bautista Sánchez that reflect on perception, imagination, and the layered nature of human experience.

About the Exhibition

Threads of Reality is a collection of paintings that explores how inner worlds touch, clash, and intertwine. The works are rooted in the idea that perception and imagination actively shape the way reality is experienced. Through shifting compositions and intuitive use of colour, the paintings create spaces where different emotional and psychological states coexist.

The exhibition embraces strangeness, dissonance, and wonder as essential aspects of being human. Rather than seeking resolution, each work holds space for contradiction and multiplicity, allowing different truths to exist simultaneously. These visual narratives do not aim to provide clear answers, but instead invite encounters between sense and uncertainty, between the visible and the unseen.

Installed in the GAP Window, the paintings form a continuous dialogue with the surrounding urban environment, encouraging passersby to pause and reflect on the ways individual experiences are shaped through interaction with others.

About the Artist

Paloma Bautista Sánchez (b. 1987) is a visual artist and architect originally from the Canary Islands, currently based in Finland. Her multidisciplinary practice spans painting, mixed media, and spatial design, exploring how inner worlds, collective experiences, and structures of belonging are formed and perceived.

Her work balances chaos and order through carefully considered compositions, while her intuitive use of colour brings unexpected combinations into harmony. Through visual storytelling and a sense of playfulness, she creates spaces that invite reflection, curiosity, and emotional engagement.

Drawing from personal experience, Paloma’s work opens broader questions around memory, perception, and the coexistence of multiple realities, positioning her practice at the intersection of the personal and the collective.

In the GAP Window

With Threads of Reality, GAP continues its mission of transforming public space into a site of artistic dialogue. The exhibition invites viewers to engage with shifting realities and layered perceptions, offering a moment of introspection within the rhythm of the city.
