Silent Legacy: A Special Premiere & Impact Screening with Globe Art Point

Globe Art Point is proud to collaborate with Väki Films (Finland) and the producers of Silent Legacy for a private premiere and impact screening in Finland.

Silent Legacy is a powerful new film that centers African diaspora narratives, exploring questions of identity, migration, belonging, and integration through lived experience. Rather than revealing the story itself, the film invites audiences into a reflective space. One that resonates deeply with Africans in the diaspora and especially with second-generation communities growing up between cultures.

The film is written and directed by Jenni Kivistö and Jussi Rastas, with cinematography by Jussi Rastas and music composed by Emil Sana. Produced by Väki Films / Ella Ruohonen, the film is a rich international collaboration, co-produced with Ellis Films (France) and Pilumpiku Production (Burkina Faso), and supported by institutions including the Finnish Film Foundation, AVEK, YLE, and France Télévisions. This cross-border collaboration reflects the very themes the film engages with movement, connection, and shared cultural memory.

An Event Designed for Impact

This screening is curated as more than a film showing. With a limited audience of approximately 100 participants, the evening is designed as an impact-focused gathering, creating space for dialogue, reflection, and collective engagement around the themes the film raises.

We are especially honoured that the lead actor of Silent Legacy, Sibiry Konate will be present at the event. His participation offers audiences a rare opportunity to engage directly with the person carrying this story on screen, and to reflect on representation, storytelling, and lived experience during the post-screening discussion.

Globe Art Point will also be present to reflect on the film’s artistic and cultural impact, situating Silent Legacy within Finland’s wider creative and social landscape.

Centering Community and Narrative

At the heart of this event is community. A number of complimentary tickets will be made available to selected community members, ensuring that those whose stories and experiences are reflected in the film are also present in the room.

By bringing together filmmakers, creatives, African diaspora communities, and cultural organisations, the screening creates a shared space for connection, recognising film not only as an art form, but as a catalyst for conversation and understanding.

A Shared Commitment

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to amplifying African narratives and fostering inclusive cultural dialogue in Finland. Silent Legacy offers no easy answers, but it opens an important space: One where stories are centered with care, dignity, and depth.
