OPEN CALL FOR A MANAGING DIRECTOR

ARE YOU OUR NEXT MANAGING DIRECTOR?

Globe Art Point’s current Managing Director Jaana Simula is retiring on 1th of September. We are therefore seeking a new Managing Director to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth and development. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and the board to strategise and execute initiatives that further the association’s goals and mission of fostering a more inclusive and equitable cultural landscape in Finland.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the association’s action plan and budget, in coordination with the board.
  • Serve as the primary supervisor for staff members, overseeing hiring processes and managing employee contracts and payrolls.
  • Plan and implement private fundraising.
  • Seek and apply for public funding.
  • Oversee financial management; including budgets, paying invoices, reporting to funders, and other officials.
  • Stay on the top of accounting. Familiarity with Fennoa Accounting System is a plus.
  • Networking and lobbying nationally as well as internationally.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in administration within the field of culture and arts.
  • Good communication and writing skills in Finnish and English (Swedish is a strong advantage).
  • Higher education in the relevant field or solid background in the similar position.
  • Experience in grant application writing in Finland but also on a European level.
  • Proven experience in association management, administration, fundraising, and policy-making within Finland.
  • Knowledge and network within the public sector and third sector.
  • Deep understanding of the Finnish arts and cultural sector.
  • Good knowledge of DEI practices.

Salary and Contract Details

  • Monthly salary of 3270 € (37,5 hours).
  • Probationary period of 4 months.
  • Full-time, permanent contract starting in August 2024 (the contract is funding dependent meaning that it can be terminated due to insufficient funds).
