OPEN CALL FOR A SWEDISH SPEAKING ARTS EDUCATOR

Globe Art Point is currently seeking for a Swedish speaking educator in the field of art and culture to become one of the facilitators of its upcoming GAP SVENSKA PEER-TO-PEER project.

The aim of the project is to bring together foreign-born and Swedish speaking creatives; artists and cultural workers to learn from one another within the landscape of the Finnish-Swedish environment.

The programme commencing in September will last for 6 months with bi-monthly meetings (2,5h). There will be two facilitators responsible for running the programme. One of the facilitators will be a foreign-born art and culture educator who is integrating in Swedish and who carries a previous knowledge of facilitating Globe Art Point’s peer-to-peer programmes. The other will be selected via this open call.  We are looking for either one of the following:

  • A foreign-born educator who has already integrated in Swedish and has good connections and knowledge of the Finnish-Swedish art and culture sector.
  • A Swedish speaking Finn, an educator who has good connections and knowledge of the Finnish-Swedish art and culture sector.

The selected facilitators will work together on the content of the programme. This is where the knowledge of the Finnish-Swedish educator comes in. Globe Art Point will support the content making by sharing their knowledge from the previous P2P programme. The facilitators are expected to plan the content of the programme during the summer months (working hours are flexible).

The facilitators’ main tasks will be to create a safer space environment for the peer-to-peer group to meet, share and develop professionally through group activities and exercises, creative thinking and occasional trips to the Finnish-Swedish cultural institutions within the region of Nyland (Uusimaa). Importantly, the facilitators will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining sustainable learning so that by the end of the programme, the participants feel energised, and essentially more confident to build their careers in the Finnish-Swedish field on their own. The language of the programme is English with a possibility to explore the Swedish language.

This is a part-time position with a salary of 1350 € per calendar month (80h). To apply for this position, please send us an email with a freestyle application letter and your resume to info@globeartpoint.fi. Three top applicants will be invited for an informal interview. The selected educator will be announced in June, 2023.

Application period is open between 18.4. – 2.5. at 12:00 noon.
