In April’s second episode of G.A.P Goes Galleries, Globe Art Point is visiting the contemporary exhibition space Kunsthalle Helsinki.
Kunsthalle Helsinki is a non-profit organization that maintains a venue for temporary exhibitions in central Helsinki. The artspace does not have a permanent collection. With the main focus on contemporary art, Kunsthalle Helsinki also exhibits design and architecture with a turnover of five to seven exhibitions per year. The gallery takes part in cross-disciplinary collaborations and engages its community with high-quality educational programmes.
During the visit, the Director of Kunsthalle Nina Toppila will introduce the exhibition space to us. She will walk us through the history of the artspace, explain the exhibition and event programming and provide information about the collaboration opportunities for artists.
The Artists’ Association of Finland (Suomen Taiteilijaseura) is also joining this event. The association is an advocate and expert organisation for visual arts as it represents over 3 000 professional artists working in Finland. The association’s Managing Director Annukka Vähäsöyrinki will introduce the association to us and explain its mission and its role in the Finnish art and culture scene.
After the presentations (also including presentation of Globe Art Point), we will be shown around the Kunsthalle venue and get a brief tour of the current exhibition on display Young Artists 2023 (22.4. – 28.5.2023) that was produced by the Artists’ Association of Finland. In the final hour of the event, there will be space for networking.
G.A.P Goes Galleries is a concept connecting professional creatives with art spaces and art and culture organisations based in the metropolitan area and beyond. It’s a free, low-threshold event organised by Globe Art Point for art and culture professionals who would like to learn about various art spaces, exhibition opportunities, network and meet like-minded people. The language of the event is English. Registration is not required, welcome!
