The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is a national funding, expert and service agency for promoting the arts. Taike together with its arts councils and boards awards grants to professional artists and subsidies to communities in the field of the arts. Annually, Taike allocates 40 million euros as grants and subsidies.
Each year Taike receives 14,000 applications on which it makes decisions. These decisions are based on peer reviews within its expert bodies. Altogether, 200 peer reviewers are involved in the decision-making process.
Taike has 40 regional artists throughout Finland who initiate and carry out national and regional arts promotion projects. These projects implement Taike’s development programmes.
Taike also offers expert services in public art.
