Svenja Fassbender has a degree in Dutch Studies, Scandinavian Studies and Intercultural Communication. Her Master’s thesis focused on gender and family constructions in Swedish Children’s Literature. Svenja has lived and worked in Germany, Sweden, China, and Belgium before moving to Finland in 2019. Her areas of expertise and interest focus on diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism. As a certified diversity agent, Svenja offers workshops for Finnish organisations and mentorships for foreign cultural workers. In 2022, she curated and organised the first symposium on diversity and inclusion in Nordic puppetry in Helsinki. Svenja strongly believes in the idea of lifelong learning, which she considers to be the development of personal skills and competences as a sustainable investment. This creates the foundation for well-being. She currently works as a cultural producer for performing arts, event manager and diversity agent between Helsinki and Berlin.
